Ten Years of World Leaders English Academy

Almost everyone knows that I have been with WORLD LEADERS ENGLISH ACADEMY since day one.

I was actually with WLEA even before it was opened.

Around March of 2007, Mr. Matthew Park and Ms. Grace Lee brought me to EDY building to see the construction of WLEA.

During that time, the about 1/4 of the whole fourthfloor was taken by the construction. I asked Mr. Park if we'd get the whole floor. His answer was "Help me make it successful and we'll get the whole floor."

Well, we did not get the whole floor but i believe that WLEA has become successful in more ways than one. We opened with only just me and another teacher, Teacher Lulu as the teaching staff. We got a program from Reading Town USA. We had a collection of books with varied levels. Our program was the only one in town. Soon, clients were talking about our program. We gained clients from different schools. To the korean community here in Baguio, we were known as yongo mael or English town But WLEA had to withstand changes. Resilience. WLEA has proven to be resilient for the whole ten years. And it got through all these years because of its resilience. We had to come up with more programs to cater to more clients. So we had to offer esl classes. We also came up with more test prep classes. In 2013, another change came. Ms. Grace Lee had to leave and Sir Jesse Ko and Maam Hannah Ko had to take over the management. Over the years, WLEA had teachers and Staff coming and going. Students also come and go. WLEA also proved its resilience by being able to cater to other nationalities aside from the usual Korean students we had. Now we are proud to say that we had students from 32 different countries. Everyone had contributed to this companies success in one way or another. Looking back. And remembering how wlea had just started with only two teachers and a few students .. And now with more than 30 staff and more than 80 students. I am proud to say that wlea had come a long way. Over the years, we have trained both teachers and students, all leaving wlea with more knowledge and skills to impart. We believe that whatever lessons we impart teachers and students, it would make a big difference in teir lives I am hoping for more years of Wlea to influence more lives ...
